Conner Berthold, an 18-year-old from Eaton Township who had been struggling with bipolar disorder was reported missing in the evening of Tuesday, October 14th.  A few hours later, in the early hours of the morning, his body was discovered inside a burned out garage near Charlotte. But that’s only the beginning of the story.

After a recent fire in Augusta Township, law enforcement officials arrested a 45 year-old Ypsilanti man who was on the scene. Initial questioning led the officer to believe that he was responsible for the fire. Now in custody, investigators are looking into whether the suspect also had a hand in the recent string of mysterious house fires in Washtenaw County during the past few months.
