Rebecca Kerr
Rebecca’s approach to family law is one that encourages cooperation and a strong effort to resolve cases without need for extensive litigation whenever possible. If the situation involves minor children, she will always advocate for clients with the best interest of their minor child(ren) in mind.
Her clients benefit from a personalized approach and commitment to each and every client. Her approach focuses on compassion, integrity, advocacy, and understanding. She will be your strongest and most passionate advocate and team member.
After a 20+ year career as a special and general education K-12 career, Rebecca began practicing law as a Family Law attorney in 2015. This experience teaching brings an entirely refreshing perspective to her understanding of families, their children and the need to resolve family law cases with the least amount of damage as possible. She is a zealous advocate for case settlement and mediation rather than litigation.
Rebecca is the proud mother of three adult children. In her spare time, she enjoys travel, reality television, and spending time with family and friends. A vegetarian since sixteen years old, Rebecca loves animals, especially her own cats. As an ordained minister through the Universal Life Church, she performs marriage ceremonies throughout the state of Michigan.
Rebecca attended Western Michigan University Cooley School of Law – Ann Arbor Campus, where she graduated Cum Laude in the top 10% of her class. She was on the Dean’s List and the Honor Roll for all 9 terms, and was awarded three certificates of merit (highest score in the class) all while teaching full-time and taking classes full-time in the evening.
